Having problems installing Chrome

I downloaded Chrome the first day it was avaliable and it seemed to work fine the first time I opened it. The next day it wouldn't open for me, so I uninstalled it and tried to install it again. This is the message I get each time I try to reinstall:

“Installation failed. Component ChromeGears failed to install. Detailed message: The installer encountered error 1612: The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.”

It would be nice if we could download the complete program and then install it locally.
