For each of three days now, I would download chrome anew, it would work fine, I was delighted, and then — leaving my pc on — I would turn off my monitor and return to my pc in a few hours.

And guess what, on each of these three days, the chrome icons would disappear, and so — not finding any shortcuts in my programs (Vista 32 bit) — I have to download anew.

What in the world is going on?  Any light would help.
