Google Chrome eats my CPU alive!

Well, I must say that I'm not impressed with the “out of the box” behavior of Google Chrome when browsing the Web.  More than once, one of the Chrome's several processes (under WinXP Pro) had gone into a state where it is eating up 100% of my CPU's cycles…and doing nothing obvious to the Web page being displayed.

What can it be doing?  I can't tell!  Whatever it is takes 10's of seconds to complete.

What seems to set it off is viewing PDF files (scrolling up/down) and/or Flash videos (e.g., YouTube, and manipulating the “slider”).

I've ended up killing off Chrome and restarting it, although it also has been possible to wait it out.

Has anyone else observed this behavior?

That's also a known issue of Chrome but it's still in its early stage of development so let's not get too mad. Google needs feedback and only this way they're able to fix problems.

I agree that Google Chrome needs more regular updating. They should not have never released it in the condition it is. No addon support, not working with Vista correctly, etc. I'm not Googles beta testers. Peopl get paid for that kind of work and so do I.

Chrome does slave up my CPU too. It takes up most of the resources and my PC becomes pretty useless for other applications mean while. I wonder why though. Yell
